Character Design Guide
-
When making your character please be sure to consult this guide to make sure the character meets community standards. Failure to do so may result in being asked to edit the character or having the character removed. Staff reserves the right to alter this guide as needed and you may be asked to retroactively alter a character to better meet the guide. If you aren't sure how to start, we encourage you to peruse some of the approved guides and better get a sense of how to flesh out your character!
-
All characters must be original characters. The rights to all characters should belong to their respective authors. If a character too closely mimics a pre-existing character you will be asked to change it.
-
No Hybrids Please try to stick to a single race when creating your characters. Characters are restricted to a single race for balance reasons in the game and we also feel this encourages creativity when designing a character (via working within restraints and avoiding cliches). If you feel you need to clarify what your character is within the main race, feel free to leave it within parenthesis. ex. Therein (Wereboar), Celestial (Angel), Vampire (Revenant)
-
God-moding is not permitted within the community. If a character is found to be over powered or lacking weaknesses, you will be asked to limit their abilities. If the issue continues, alterations may be required to ensure fair and reasonable interactions exist between players.
-
All characters must be adults. While excessively violent or sexual situations are not permitted on the official server and forum, we do not condone physical or sexual violence of any sort performed on children. As such all characters must be adults. Characters should be 18+ and staff reserves the right to determine whether or not a character is being presented as sufficiently mature to present as an adult.

Please try and keep the setting details in mind. We make an effort to keep the history and details of the setting vague enough so as not to pigeonhole our writers. We encourage players to find holes in the setting lore and fill them. That being said we do have some official details that should be kept in mind to make sure there are no serious conflicts with setting lore.
Recommend Lore Details to Consider:
1.Andalvyn exists as a stand alone setting. Most characters will be born and raised in
Andalvyn. While real world (or even alternate world) settings are not forbidden, please be sure to include how they came to Andalvyn if they are somehow not a native.-
Keep in mind the important events in the history of Andalvyn:
a. The City was created by the Mad God ~500 years ago.
b. The Church of Man was founded ~422 years ago.
c. The Eternal Council formed to oppose the church ~397
d. The Mad War raged from ~396-393 years ago. -
The Official Races of Andalvyn are:
a. Humans
b. Vampires
c. Therein (Shifters)
d. Tua (Fae)
e. Demons
f. Celestials
You are welcome to flavor these how you like, but this is the approved terminology. Pick whichever race suits your character concept best!
