Vampirism: As a vampire Krynul is immortal and extremely durable. He heals rapidly, particularly when drinking blood and has impeccable night vision.
Shadow Magic: The natural elemental affinity of the Onyxians, Krynul can shape and mold shadows to his will. He can create all many of tendrils, cloaks, and even shadow servants.
Swordmagic: Krynul was raised from a young age in a swordmagic academy. He was trained to channel magic through a blade just as one might a wand. The intention was to serve as an elite guard for royalty and as such, abjuration magic is woven into his techniques.
Spatial Magic: It took Krynul over a decade of studying spatial magic to learn how to pierce the veil between worlds. While some might say he failed to open the portal a thousand times, he prefers to say he discovered a thousand ways to teleport himself an others.

Weaknesses:

Vampiric Carrier: Hailing from another dimension, Krynul was never quite human. While vampirism made him immortal, it failed to confer on him many of the more supernatural abilities. He's still vulnerable to many of the same weaknesses such as sunlight and holy water.
Daylight: Between his vampirism and reliance on shadow magic, daylight is extremely crippling and dangerous for Krynul. The light sears his skin and cripples his shadow magic.
Arcane Focus: His sword is the implement through which he channels his spells. If separated from his blade, he loses access to most of his magic save for his shadow magic.

Physical Description: Tall and lanky, Krynul does not immediately seem to match the description of a swordsman and more that of a scholar. He tends to keep his brown hair long, tying it up in a bun when it gets in the way. A beard always frames his face in some fashion or other. His eyes are soft and brown more often than not, though red or black may seep into them depending on which of his personalities is dominant. His pale skin is a patchwork of scars and tattoos, but he tends to keep the most notable ones hidden. He is rarely seen without his leather jacket, with Die Stille markings etched into it, and never without his sword, Howling Silence.

Personality: Much of Krynul's life has been fraught with loss and betrayal. As a result, he is slow to trust others, unwilling to let them in lest they become another casualty. First impressions aren't helped by the fact that he hails from another plane and will spend weeks at a clip researching if left unattended.

If you can get past the shell of distrust and his unrefined social graces, Krynul is intensely loyal. He is protective and devoted to those who become a steady part of his life and will reveal himself to be warm and goofy to those he is comfortable with.

As a result of attempting to open a portal back to his home plane, Krynul has been cursed with a magical affliction of sorts. He has been fused with two other instances of himself from parallel realities. As a result, his personality may shift dramatically depending on the situation.

Backstory:
Krynul hails from a distant dimension and a land known as Urstoff. He was taken from his family at a young age and trained in the Swordmage Academy of Urstoff's capital. Near the end of his training, the capital came under attack, and Krynul's master hurled him through a portal where he found himself in a city ruled by vampires. Knowing it would take him possibly eons to teach himself how to return to his world, he allowed himself to be turned to guarantee he'd have the time.

He spent the next decade studying ravenously, trying all manner of spatial magical formulae. Occasionally he'd tear open a portal and find himself in the wrong world. During his adventures he made and lost friends and loved ones, feeling ever more like he might never find a world he could truly call his own home. Every lost lover, child, and comrade left him feeling emptier until the day came when he found himself once more in that first city.

There he met Erzsebet and the two became fast friends. She stood by his side as he struggled with more loss, but for once, he found someone who simply could not be removed from his life. The day came when he finally opened a portal to his world and found himself fused with two versions of himself from alternate timelines. His fiancee abandoned him over the accident, and he came to Erry who accepted him and healed his fractured mind.

The two fell in love and began building an oasis for themselves they named "Silent Echoes Sanctuary". They worked together to build a family and turn the Sanctuary into a beautiful place. Krynul found the twins, his children from his first marriage, and took them back in to finish raising them. Finally, the day came when the two were bound, and for their honeymoon, Krynul decided to take them on an adventure to end all others... he teleported the entire Sanctuary into Andalvyn!
