Backstory: Rayne hadn’t had a very exciting life. She was raised by her mother and grew up with her sister. Everything was mostly normal in her childhood. A nice home, a loving family, an education. Rayne was happy.

Then one day all that changed. Her mother got sick and died, leaving only her and her sister. Then her sister was stolen from her. This didn’t leave many people in Raynes's life, and for a while, she felt lost and closed herself off from the world.

After a few years, Rayne began finding her place in the world again. She opened her own shop, where she should herbs and rocks and other ingredients, and she started doing well for herself. However, she still found it hard to trust anyone, especially since the witches she was selling these items to were attacking her on the streets too.

Backstory:
The beginning...
There was a legend of a woman who was meant to burn down the world so the True Mother could start over, this time with more balance. Few knew of the Destroyer of Worlds, but enough did. A small group witnessed The Destroyer die, burning down to ash, deep in the forest. And there they built. Homes, farms, and living off the land until the number of people grew and finally one was born. The firstborn of the ashes was born with a birthmark of a phoenix and would hold great power. Her name would be Gemma, and in this village, she would grow. Her powers stayed limited to air, water, and earth. The people began to worry. Without fire, she could not ultimately fulfill her destiny. The Council began demanding too much from Gemma, sure that she had to reset the world. One fateful night she fought with the council, not knowing she had finally grown into her full power. She ran that night, burning nearly everything down on her way....

Finding Hope...
Gemma went on for a while, running from her past. Still, she couldn't get away. She was damned by her destiny. Her people even sent scouts to bring her back and finish fulfilling her purpose. This stopped her from making friends or staying with a man she may have loved, Eisen. She had to protect the world from herself.

Yet, one fateful day she ran into a man named Shadow who was stubborn enough to not just let her run away. He was the first to break her secrets open. With his help, she was able to trick her people into believing she died and returned to the ashes. With this newfound freedom, she chose to go back to Eisen, hoping a normal life would somehow be possible...
But that would require her to learn to control her own power.
